Canadian Arctic Emission Control Area
The Canadian Arctic ECA under MARPOL Annex VI: designated by MEPC.392(82), in force 1 March 2026, with the 0.10% sulphur limit applying from 1 March 2027.
The Canadian Arctic Emission Control Area is a MARPOL Annex VI emission control area for sulphur oxides, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides, designated by MEPC.392(82), adopted 4 October 2024 and in force 1 March 2026. Under the 12-month grace period in Regulation 14.7, the 0.10% m/m fuel sulphur limit applies there from 1 March 2027.
