The 2016 EU commitments decision ending General Rate Increase announcements by 14 container carriers.
Case AT.39850 Container Shipping ended with a European Commission decision of 7 July 2016 under Article 9 of Regulation 1/2003 making binding the commitments of 14 container carriers to stop General Rate Increase announcements. For three years from 7 December 2016 price announcements had to include base rate, bunker charges, security charges, terminal handling charges and any peak season charge, and bind as maximum prices.
