Container/Vehicle Packing Certificate (IMDG 5.4.2)
The container/vehicle packing certificate is signed by whoever packs dangerous goods into a cargo transport unit, certifying the conditions of IMDG 5.4.2.1.
The container/vehicle packing certificate is the signed statement, required by IMDG 5.4.2, that dangerous goods were packed into a container or vehicle in accordance with the IMDG Code . It is signed by the person responsible for packing or loading the cargo transport unit, and it is not required for portable tanks.
IMDG 5.4.2.1 lists nine conditions the signatory certifies, among them that the unit was clean, dry and fit, that segregation was applied, that packages were inspected, that the unit and packages are marked, labelled and placarded, and that the dangerous goods transport document has been received. The certificate may be combined with the dangerous goods transport document .
The full article will cover each of the nine conditions, the link to the CTU Code packing practice, and the misdeclaration cases in which the certificate was the last control. Class-specific notes are in IMDG Class 4 .
