The Fossil Fuel Fee (FFF) is the single fuel surcharge Maersk announced on 31 May 2024 to replace, in phases, its bunker adjustment factor and low sulphur surcharge on contracts over 3 months. Its terms multiply a trade factor in tonnes per FFE by a Platts delivered price weighted across VLSFO and LSMGO, reviewed quarterly with a moving baseline.
