MEPC.1/Circ.885/Rev.1 of 7 February 2023, the IMO procedure for assessing impacts on States of candidate GHG measures, and its role in the Net-Zero Framework.
MEPC.1/Circ.885/Rev.1, dated 7 February 2023 and approved at MEPC 79, sets out the IMO’s revised procedure for assessing impacts on States of candidate measures to reduce GHG emissions from ships. It revokes MEPC.1/Circ.885.
Footnote 118 of the draft IMO Net-Zero Framework cites it for the Fund purpose in regulation 41.1.2.5 on disproportionately negative impacts on States, including food security . The full article will cover the procedure and the comprehensive impact assessment of the mid-term measures.
