The IMO Sub-Committee on Pollution Prevention and Response reports to MEPC and drafts technical work on the MARPOL annexes, ballast water and spill response.
The Sub-Committee on Pollution Prevention and Response (PPR) is the IMO sub-committee that prepares technical work for the Marine Environment Protection Committee on the MARPOL annexes, the Ballast Water Management Convention and pollution preparedness and response. Its 13th session, 9 to 13 February 2026, continued the revision of MARPOL Annex IV and agreed in principle a draft Sewage Record Book regulation.
