IMO Procedures for Port State Control: A.1206(34)
IMO resolution A.1206(34), Procedures for Port State Control, 2025, is the recommendatory IMO guidance for PSC officers worldwide; it revoked A.1185(33).
The IMO Procedures for Port State Control, 2025 are set out in IMO Assembly resolution A.1206(34), adopted on 3 December 2025, which revoked resolution A.1185(33) of 6 December 2023. As a recommendation the resolution carries no entry-into-force date. They give port State control officers recommendatory guidance on inspection, clear grounds, detention and reporting.
