Institute Cargo Clauses (Air)
The LMA and IUA all-risks cover for air cargo, CL387 1/1/09, and its 30-day termination and salvage-only clause 2.
The Institute Cargo Clauses (Air) (excluding sendings by Post) CL387, dated 1/1/09, are the London market’s all-risks wording for goods carried by air. Unlike the marine clauses they carry no general average or both to blame clause: clause 2 covers salvage charges only, and cover ends 30 days after unloading from the aircraft at the final place of discharge (clause 6.1.4).
The full article will cover the scope and exclusions, the increased value clause at clause 12, and the companion war and strikes wordings for air cargo. The cargo insured value article covers how this topic affects the sum insured on a cargo policy.
