Port State control of fishing vessels

Port State control of fishing vessels: the Paris MoU's planned voluntary regime for vessels of 24 m and over, and how other port State regions inspect them.

Port State control of fishing vessels is outside the routine scope of most regional regimes, because the main IMO safety conventions exclude fishing vessels. The full article will cover the instruments that apply to fishing vessels, the scope and procedure of the new approach, and how it compares with fishing-vessel inspection in other regions.
