The Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) is the regional activity centre of the Barcelona Convention system for pollution from ships. It supported the technical work behind the Mediterranean sulphur ECA and, in 2025, the feasibility study for a possible Mediterranean NOx ECA.
