SYNACOMEX 2023
The Continental grain voyage charter, its drafting bodies, and its Paris arbitration route.
SYNACOMEX 2023 is the current edition of the Continental grain voyage charter party, drafted by the Syndicat National du Commerce Exterieur des grains et graines oleagineuses and Armateurs de France with the Chambre Arbitrale Maritime de Paris and the Chambre Syndicale des Courtiers d’Affretement Maritime, and approved by BIMCO. It was announced by BIMCO on 19 October 2023.
The arbitration route is the feature that distinguishes it commercially. A fixture on SYNACOMEX routinely arbitrates in Paris under French procedure rather than in London, so a recap adopting the form is choosing a seat as well as a clause set. A recap naming SYNACOMEX 2000 is naming a superseded edition.
